Whilst at the Rijksakademie, where I was surrounded by a more art market orientated community than I had ever encountered before, and fascinated by the tradition of Mail Art, and abroad and in correspondence with my people, although still making sculpture, this marks beginnings of a more conceptual and social practice.

I was getting involved in a number of collective projects such as Shave and Triangle Workshops and Hermit Foundation in Plasy. I requested access to the mailing lists of the organisations hosting the projects and sent each and every address a letter inscribed with the words I Like You. By the time I arrived at the location I had an introduction, also some untangling to do with translation. The airletters were mailed specifically from an island location – Gozo near Malta, a modest version of paradise. The second part of this project was a work entitled Paradise Pop.
