Tesco Opening

I gain access to an up and coming art gallery‘s mailing list and send invites to this event on the Old Kent Road. They seemed interested in my work. It marks a moment of geographical and social change, of which the gallery was a part. This intervention seems a precursor to both the Pony Race work and a much later performative work Reading Rye Lane. Many of the works at this time comment and critique the entropic gentrifying process we found ourselves in, and celebrate the specificities of site, locality and the everyday.
